Ms. Stravin Runs Boston Marathon

Congratulations to Squantum 1st grade teacher Ms. Colleen Stravin, who completed the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 17, as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge (DFMC) team!
The DFMC team consists of runners from all walks of life who participate in the Boston Marathon to raise funds for cancer research, patient care, and education at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Since its inception in 1990, the DFMC has raised more than $115 million to support the mission of the institute, which is to conquer cancer through research, education, and patient care.
Ms. Stravin ran the marathon to honor her father, who has fought and overcome cancer multiple times.
Ms. Stravin’s dedication and commitment to her family and to the DFMC team are an inspiration to all of us. As a teacher, she has shown her students that anything is possible with hard work, determination, and a passion for making a difference in the world. Her example serves as a reminder that we all have the power to create positive change in our communities and beyond!
